Is it worth investing in the stock market alone?

As with any activity, becoming a good investor requires time, dedication and study. A person who invests in the stock market in his spare time will hardly be able to reach the skill level of a professional investor. The stock market is a competitive environment. Every time you buy a stock, believing it will go up, whoever is selling you believes it will go down and only one of you will be right. On the Brazilian stock exchange, 90% of the amounts traded come from funds and other institutional investors. That is, it is as if you decided to start competing in races and most of your opponents were Olympic athletes. Of course, that doesn't make it impossible to make money investing alone, but it certainly isn't easy to get good returns consistently over several years. If you decide to try it on your own, our recommendation is that your first investment is in time, dedication and studies to become a good investor.
