How is the day to day of a professional investor?

Our work is like an investigation. Every morning we discuss with the team the investment theses that we have been researching, we identify the doubts we have about and we elaborate the hypotheses that we need to validate. From then on, each one starts looking for more information and elaborates analyzes to bring back to the team to discuss. We dedicate ourselves to research most of the day. We seek information from sector reports and publicly traded companies, published by investment banks and research houses, we talk to people in the market, we search public databases, among other research methods. Everything relevant, we annotate and organize this information to build a comprehensive view of the thesis. The remainder of our time is devoted to calculations and discussions. It is necessary to turn our analyzes and beliefs into numbers to arrive at our estimate of fair value for each company. Our team conducts several conversations throughout the analysis of a single action, since many aspects need to be taken into account, thus complementing each other in our visions. Because we are focused on long-term investments, at Ártica Long Term FIA we make few purchases and sales throughout the year. Most of our time is spent with reflections, studies and calculations, so that we can decide what we are going to buy or sell.
