PULP: one of the main sources of income in Brazil
Brazil is one of the largest producers of hardwood pulp in the world, being extremely efficient in the production of wood. Consequently, it has the lowest production cost per ton of pulp. The main factor contributing to this is the country's natural conditions: sun, rain, temperature, topography, tree adaptation, etc. Another relevant factor, but not so visible, is the political and economic condition of the country, as high investments are needed in land, forests, factories, among others. Africa, for example, is a region with a climate potential equivalent to Brazil. However, its potential is not explored due to lack of infrastructure. Due to these reasons, we have strong pulp companies in Brazil such as Suzano, Bracell, Eldorado and Klabin.
